It is the time of year when you have to change gear. Suddenly, daily life takes off and you find yourself desperately trying to catch up with yourself. Nevertheless, ‘flying’ is not necessarily a bad thing; there is a chance to gain a new perspective.

I don’t know if this camellia has a name, but I was told that it hadn’t. Anyway, I call it Big Mac understanding clearly how a name may overshadow beauty. Perhaps, I should stand aside.

Have you ever seen a mountain of grace next to a full moon? I have. The event was so fluid that the camera wouldn’t work. Still, now I know that being and imagination really co-exist like nothing else.

He was looking at a pink and white camellia when all of a sudden he was transported inside into another world – the sun was shining on a little, white cottage and a young boy was sitting inside drinking coffee from a red mug, dreaming of a pink camellia. The clock ticked 9.00 and he looked up: the camellia world closed and he was locked out again.

It seems that one spends a great deal of one’s life un-educating oneself. In a sense, the education system has a cheek stealing people’s individuality. As if there is a norm for behaviour. Behaviour is specific and not much use if generalised.

It is a white magnolia day today. The blooms are all around and everywhere and nowhere. I have tried countless time to take a photograph that reflects the way the light reflects off the myriad of flowers but to no avail… for part of the beauty is a figment of my imagination, an impression of what is to be.

There are days when you can see your mountain of grace, yet this day made evade you for months. You pass long dark days and nights with nothing in sight so that the impression left in your memory grows dim. And then one fine day, there she is again as marvellous as ever, and today is that day!

I am counting my blessings this morning. These little objects are not the blessings themselves but certainly represent some of them. We have a way of leaving little reminders of our spiritual inheritance: profound and enduring love, that’s what keeps us here!
